Content Syndication: 7 Strategies For Maximum Exposure

For those of us who work in the Internet marketing business, content truly is king! With this in mind, it’s important that we maximize everything that we create in order to generate the most value from our efforts. Here are seven content syndication strategies that can be used to take a 500-800 word article and get maximum value out of that single piece of content.

Social Networking

You can use the power of social networking in a number of ways:
• You can use social bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon and Digg to promote the article on your blog.
• You can post the complete article on sites such as Facebook and MySpace, although you may choose to tweak it slightly for variety.
• You can expand on it to create a Squidoo lens.
• You can break it into smaller chunks and use Twitter to post these smaller portions.
• You can use sections to leave comments for other people.

Blog

Every article that you write should be posted to your blog in the first instance. Since your blog should be central to your online marketing strategy, you want to post every piece of content that you create here.

Newsletters / Ezines

You can include your article in your newsletter or ezine that you send out to your list. You should be sending these at least once per month – once a fortnight seems to be about optimum. In addition, you could use your article to guest author for someone else’s newsletter and increase your exposure.

Create Audio

By simply recording yourself reading your article, you’ll end up with an MP3 file that you can use either as an audio feed from your blog, or as part of a podcast that you publish on a regular basis.

Create Video

Once you have the audio, it’s fairly straightforward to add images and turn it into a video. You can either do this with something like Camtasia, or you can create a PowerPoint presentation and use SlideShare to produce the video.

Create a Press Release

Create a press release of your article and submit it to a variety of press release directories. This will not only generate backlinks for your main site, it has the added benefit that your article might be picked up by the mainstream media.

Article Directories

Last but by no means least, you should submit your articles to article directories. I would recommend that you start with EzineArticles, then once they’ve approved it, you can go ahead and submit to other directories.
This is by no means an exhaustive list of how you can use your content.

My hope is that it opens your eyes to the possibilities that are available to maximize your creative work. Spend some time thinking about which methods you want to use in your business and see what other techniques you can come up with. Whatever you do, don’t make life difficult for yourself by writing everything fresh!
